Tennis Heroes wow Devonshire Park! |

 In what has already been an outstanding year for sport at Cross-in-Hand, the Year 3/4 tennis team pulled off the biggest achievement of the lot by coming runners up in the Sussex schools' tennis finals at Devonshire Park. The children excelled themselves and dominated the "singles" stage of the tournament with some fantastic tennis against good opposition. In the relay they won one of the events and came 2nd in another to ensure they pushed the eventual winners all the way. During the morning they also had the opportunity to tour the courts at Devonshire Park and soak up the atmosphere of Centre Court. The children looked fantastic in their white t-shirts and caps and, with their attitude and behaviour, were ambassadors for school throughout. Thanks must go too, to all parents who helped the morning to be such an enjoyable occasion for all involved.  |

Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Hastings beach on Tuesday 15th June as part of their geography topic. The children packed a lot into the day as they visited the Funicular Railway, Fisherman's Museum and bought ice creams! On a sunny, but windy day, they also had the opportunity to sketch the fishing boats on the beach. 
Year one stepped back in time when they visited Bodiam Castle on Wednesday 16th June. The children had a guided tour around the castle and learned that there were twenty eight toilets called garderrobes!The children took on the role of the people who would have lived in the castle.
