Learning at Home PDF Print E-mail
We know that when parents and school are working together, learning for the child is at its best.
There is an enormous advantage in children spending regular, short periods of time on learning activities at home, which support and extend the work they do in class.
The purposes of our homework are:
  • To develop an effective partnership between our school and parents, which will enhance learning.
  • To help the children consolidate and reinforce skills, particularly in numeracy and literacy.
  • To extend and expand the context of learning.
  • To encourage the children to develop the confidence and self-discipline to learn at home.
We believe work at home should not get in the way of other valuable activities which the children engage in after school – such as, sport, music and clubs of all kinds.  We know these activities are extremely beneficial for well-rounded development.
